Thanksgiving, and

Our world is a paradoxical place, full of both beauty and loss. We start with a sense of wonder at creation – and a desire to praise and thank the Creator.

“The world is charged with the grandeur of God”

Powerpoints that show creation’s beauty – and give praise and thanks to God.

All of CCOW’s PowerPoints are free to use for worship services, home groups, and church meetings offline or online; we ask only that you do not alter them and that you credit CCOW. Please note that the images in the PowerPoints and throughout our site are copyright, and should not be used for other purposes without express permission.

“Yours are the praises, the glory, the honour, and all blessing”

Thanksgiving and praise – prayers, studies and reflections

Hymns & Prayers of Praise

“Most High, all powerful, good Lord,
Yours are the praises, the glory, the honour, and all blessing.
(St Francis of Assisi, Canticle of the Sun)

Reflecting on creation & creator

“There is already all the time this vast cosmic choir hymning the praises of God, and we are called to join in.” (Richard Bauckham, “The Community of Creation” )

Personal reflections

“As Christians we have the immense privilege of glimpsing new creation. Our faith gives us sights of leaves of the tree of life that heal the nations.”  (Margot Hodson )

“How marvellous are your works, O Lord!”

Praying amidst the glories of creation

We’re invited to join in creation’s praise of God – and how better to do that than to pray with creation in full view? Use these resources for outside worship – or find on our map local groups that (when it’s safe again!) do outside worship (blue markers), nature reserves (green markers), and places where you can (when safe!) volunteer to care for creation (teal markers), thanking God while caring for God’s gifts.
