CCOW Podcast – Interview with Carol Wills
During Fairtrade Fortnight 2025, we spoke with Carol Wills about the origins of Fair Trade, its meaning, people in the Fair Trade movement who have inspired her, and how we can pray and act to support Fair Trade.
Carol has worked in Fair Trade for about 50 years – starting with the first Fair Trade shops in the UK; spending time with Oxfam in South Asia and as manager of the Bridge programme, which brought Fair Trade products to market at Oxfam shops; and serving as Executive Director of the International Federation of Alternative Trade, which became the World Fair Trade Organization. She brings experience of Fair Trade at every level: from time spent with individual artisans and farmers to the experience of working on global principles and standards. We are hugely grateful to her for sharing her reflections.
