“Lead me, Lord”

A journey for individuals and churches

An overview of the journey

A Journey of Hope and Love

CCOW has been working with Christians and churches on care for creation for almost three decades.

Our new resources for the journey will bring together what we’ve learned over that time into a process that we hope many may find helpful, whatever their starting point. The process is about connecting with God and creation, discerning our call, undertaking prayer and action, and connecting with others. It has five steps, each simple and able to be taken at your own pace.  We depict it as a cycle, because people will come in at different points:  whether you’re someone who likes to start with reflection, action, or knowledge, you’ll find your place of entry.

This guide to the journey isn’t a stand-alone. It is designed to direct people towards and complement the brilliant tools that already exist – including A Rocha’s Eco Church programme and CAFOD’s Live Simply programme, Climate Stewards’ carbon calculators, and tools developed by Hope for the Future,  Green Christian, and others.

Look for it to launch on the 12th of April … see you then!

Praying and acting in faith and hope

Hymns & Prayers

“God who speaks, help us to listen,
work and vote, pray and sing,
change our values, live more simply
build a world where love is king.”
(Averil Stedeford)

Reflections and Teaching

“Christians have a Godgiven call to…be channels of redemption, as the power of the resurrection is at work within the people of God. Prophetic action lived within the gift of ultimate hope becomes the demonstration of a sustaining present hope.” (John Weaver)

Where I am …

In the stories gathered here, individual Christians share what they are seeing  ‘where they are’ – whether that’s a geographic location or a type of work – and what they are doing to make a difference.

“A three-fold strand is not easily broken”

Some ways of standing together

We can do nothing without God – but God also gives us each other. Find ways below of connecting with other people who care – neighbours local, national and international who are seeking to care for creation. Green markers indicate local community groups, blue markers indicate church-based groups, light blue markers indicate agencies.
