“Tickets (£10) are available at the Village Stores for this remarkable celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first live broadcast on the BBC. Poet and Head of BBC History Robet Seatter will read poems from his new volume of poetry, interspersed with cello pieces performed by Elizabeth Reid, and some BBC recordings of the original event – doors open 5.30pm for a 6pm start at the Barn at Small’s House, Mackney.
And for those Eurovision fans anxious not to miss the evening’s other great event (BBC1 8pm), the programme is due to finish around 7pm. Parking is limited so please avoid driving if you can.”
