“Be part of an art installation when a flotilla of tiny paper boats will ‘sail’ across Bonn Square, Oxford, the culmination of an important project celebrating diversity and recognising the importance of trade and travel in the history of Western art.
Since January, the Oxford Concert Party has been running Waving Hello, a project challenging preconceived notions about refugees and asylum seekers, exploring our common humanity in a creative and interdisciplinary way. The project has involved music, storytelling and/or poetry and visual arts and has brought together, amongst others, refugees and asylum seekers, school groups, and detainees at Campsfield.
Boats will be made by groups who have participated in the project to date and also by members of the public, either made in advance or on the day. Instructions on how to make the paper boats https://youtu.be/DWvNqjguUrI
