“Join us for an evening of poetry and discussion with writers from refugee and immigrant backgrounds, or who work directly with refugees. This event was inspired by the remarkable collection England: Poems from a School (https://www.poetrybooks.co.uk/products/england-poems-from-a-school-edited-by-kate-clanchy), an anthology of poems by students of Oxford Spires Academy from immigrant origins, led by their mentor Kate Clanchy. The evening will feature performances by two poets from the collection: Azfa Awad and Mukahang Limbu, as well as Alan Buckley, a local poet who works closely with refugees. The poets will then join Kate Clanchy in conversation for a Q&A and discussion of their experiences.”
