Since retiring three years ago, I’ve been working as a volunteer adviser at Asylum Welcome, helping asylum seekers and refugees to navigate the many bureaucratic and everyday obstacles they face.

In my work as a documentary filmmaker, I travelled to many fascinating places. The photos in this exhibition are from some of the countries I have visited over the years, along with ones taken in Oxford and around England.

The wonderful musicians who have agreed to play at the event bring music from Africa, the Americas and Europe.

The food will include fabulous dishes made by Syrian clients of Asylum Welcome.”
