Join with us and other local churches for a time of learning, sharing, encouraging, networking and prayer.
Over the past year Christians and their churches across the Thames Valley have begun engaging with refugees – whether moved by what they’ve seen happening to people in Afghanistan or Ukraine, or simply by a greater awareness of the global and national refugee situation.
Some have been engaging with refugees for years; for others it’s a new venture. Some are working together with other local churches or community groups, others on their own. The range of activity is amazing – individuals and congregations are hosting community cafes; running English classes, conversation group sand cooking programmes; helping people find employment; undertaking community sponsorship, fundraising, donating, supporting hosts and guests, welcoming refugees into their church communities, offering services in refugees’ languages, and more.
Join with us and other local churches for a time of learning, sharing, encouraging, networking and praying for this important ministry. As well as the chance to hear from people with particular knowledge and experiences, there will be the opportunity to talk in smaller groups and connect with others near you or with a common interest.
Register here to attend and we will send you the full programme and Zoom link nearer the time. For further information please contact Joanna Schüder, CCOW Refugee Networking Officer, 07552948688, email@example.com.
