“On 16th March there will be a participative walk in solidarity with refugees and migrants, an opportunity to ‘Share the Journey’ and to raise money in sponsorship to support the work of Marlow Refugee Action – there will be walks of varying lengths to suit all ages and abilities and a section to be traveled by boat!
Join the 4U Team on Saturday for a Lent Walk that will take you on a journey between all four churches within the parish in solidarity with refugees and migrants and in support of Marlow Refugee Action (Registered Charity No. 1180428). Lent Walk Poster
The walk will take you between All Saints Marlow, St Mary’s Marlow Bottom, St John’s Little Marlow and All Saints Bisham with the possibility of a boat trip added in as well. The total route is just over 8 miles, but you can do shorter segments of 4 or 5 miles. We would ask you to register (£5 for adults and under 18’s free) using this link.
At each church there will be an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing crisis and consider what we can do to help relieve it.
The event is also an opportunity to raise funds for the incredible work carried out by Marlow Refugee Action as they seek to make a difference to those who have been forced to flee their homes.
In 2019 we will be fundraising to continue language training for refugees at the Marlow Language Centre. Two places were funded in the autumn term and we are hoping to raise enough funds to support at least two more in the spring term. This is one of the projects that the Sponsored Walk on the 16th March will be supporting.”
