“Welcome Churches are delighted to announce that we are working with Dr Krish Kandiah to launch The Hospitality Pledge in response to the government’s New Plan For Immigration. We are launching The Hospitality Pledge to inspire people to use their voices and homes on behalf of asylum seekers, many of whom have fled war, famine and terror to find somewhere safe to call home.
You are invited to an inspiring evening with a fantastic line-up of speakers on Monday 28th June from 8pm. We are delighted to be able to hear real-life experiences from Lord Alf Dubs, Rahima Mahmut, Rachel Poulton MBE, Nicky Gumbel and Pastor Sola Irukwu. Click here to read more about the guest speakers
Dr Krish Kandiah, Director of The Hospitality Pledge, commented: “The government’s proposed New Plan for Immigration presents the biggest change to our asylum system in a generation, and is set to greatly reduce the UK’s acceptance of asylum seekers. The Hospitality Pledge will work in coalition with other UK and international charities to speak up for all asylum seekers; we will also aim to help those who are persecuted for their religious beliefs and encourage people around the UK to offer hospitality to refugees and asylum seekers in their homes where they can.””
