Donating

Donations from individuals, churches and church organisations help make CCOW's work possible.  We couldn't do it without you!

This is the page for Direct Donation.  If you would like to be involved in a fundraising or sponsorship event then please follow the link. more>>

Direct Donations

The most effective way for you as an individual to help fund CCOW regularly is through your bank or charity account using a standing order (form downloadable below). Also, you or your church can give one-off donations by sending a cheque drawn on a UK bank, or a voucher authorising payment from your charity account, to the Treasurer (forms downloadable below)  We really are most grateful for your support.

Please, if you can, gift aid any donation; at the current rate of tax we receive a further 25% (approx) of your gift value from the exchequer so it does make a difference.

Fundraising & Sponsorship

Fundraising Events

Perhaps you'd like to help by fundraising with a special event. These can be wonderful occasions both to raise money for CCOW and to highlight one or more of the issues we work on. Some suggestions are:

  • A concert of songs relating to justice and peace
  • A Fairtrade coffee morning
  • A shared meal, with a speaker (we're happy to provide one!)

Sponsorship Events

We'd also love to talk to you about sponsored walks/cycle rides, etc.

These don't have to be anything too arduous (non-marathoners take heart . . . though if you are running and would like to support us, that would be wonderful). Maybe you'd like to cut down your carbon footprint by cycling to work once a week . . . why not turn that into a sponsorship opportunity!

Please contact us to talk about these and other possibilities.

Praying for CCOW

Prayer support is essential for any Christian work -- and Christian Concern for One World's work is no exception. We invite you to pray now and on a regular basis for CCOW; please pray for the trustees, for Maranda our co-ordinator and for all our partners and supporters throughout the world.

Loving God, Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, Grant that we who follow Christ may have strength and discernment to fulfill His commands.

Give us the desire to seek first your Kingdom of love and justice in all that we do, the wisdom to understand what this entails in our globalised world, and the courage to follow where you call, trusting in your loving support. Strengthen our partnerships with your children around the world and grant that our common labours may be a witness to you and a foretaste of your Kingdom.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

God and Father of all, you have taught us to care for one another and to live in peace, grant that our policies towards other nations may be dictated not by self-interest but by concern for the common good, and that we may seek to further the cause of economic justice in the world, through Jesus Christ our Lord. (adapted from Christian Prayers ref 94.142.)

CCOW's Monthly Prayer Points

Our monthly prayer points cover both CCOW's own needs and also selected issues and situations on which we work. To receive them as a monthly email, please send an email to ccowinfo@fish.co.uk with the subject "Prayer List."

More generally, you can find prayer resources for key situations and topics by going to our homepage and clicking the "prayer" box on the left hand side of the page. This will connect you with the "Praying and Preaching" pages for each topic.

Volunteering

Doing the work of the Kingdom requires many labourers, and CCOW is always grateful for people who are able to offer time and talents.

Some people may wish to help primarily with administrative work; others may wish to contribute their expertise in a particular field, others may be willing to represent CCOW in a particular location.

Right now we have a particular need for

Whatever you can offer, we'd love to talk with you about your potential involvement. Contact the coordinator at ccowinfo@fish.co.uk  to find out more or arrange a time to talk.
